Pokémon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back

This is the first Revised Subtitles release, this time for the English dub of Pokémon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back. This is the first Pokémon animated film that was first shown in North American theaters on November 12, 1999.

These are currently not closed captions, only subtitles. I may update them later to include closed captions.

Tested by importing the file into Handbrake and encoding the first chapter of the Pokémon: The Movies 1-3 Collection release.

I used the Pokémon: The Movies 1-3 Collection release's subtitles as a base for this release, extracting the image-based Blu-ray subtitles using MKVExtract, and converting them to .srt format using sup2srt, and editing the resulting file using Subtitle Editor.

These subtitles DO NOT include The Uncut Story of Mewtwo's Origin at the start, to line up with modern-day home releases. This is in direct contrast to the opensubtitles.org submission from over two decades ago; if you want subtitles for the short, use that.

The original subtitles in this release frankly kind of suck. The very first subtitle, among others, have various glaring issues with capitalization, spelling and grammar, which I find inexcusable from Pokémon of all franchises:

A particular presentation aspect that bothered me was Team Rocket's viking disguise, where the subtitles completely butcher it by identifying them as Jessie and James early. The disguise is obvious, but playing along with the disguise would have been fun!

The subtitlers were lazy and just had most Pokemon cries subtitled to the full Pokemon name when oftentimes they only said parts of their name, or in Tauros's case made a generic bull cry.

With these revised subtitles, all of these issues have been fixed.

Another note is that I used official terminology capitalization and grammar where appropriate. For example, the official subtitles in this release use "Pokemon trainer" or just "trainer", despite Trainer being a proper noun as it's used in the franchise.
